The Chevrolet Captiva
The Chevrolet Captiva is a compact SUV developed by GM Daewoo (now GM Korea), the South Korean subsidiary of General Motors (GM), and sold under the Chevrolet brand. The Captiva utilizes the GM Theta platform and derives from the Chevrolet S3X concept car revealed in 2004.
With its boldly contoured hood, projector headlamps and eye-catching signature Chevrolet grille that features a prominent Chevrolet bowtie, the Captiva is sure to turn heads wherever it is driven.
The Captiva’s rear design is dominated by a large tailgate and substantial vertical tail lamps with indicators and reversing lamps contained in circular elements.
Climbing aboard the new Captiva, the first impression is one of abundant light and spaciousness. The interior ambience has been taken up several notches in terms of quality and functionality.
The Captiva has been constructed to maximize space. The 5 + 2 Flexi Seating arrangement can comfortably accommodate seven adults and can be transformed into an adaptable luggage carrier in a flash. The Captiva’s all-leather seating and matching cabin exude total luxury.
Among the Chevy Captiva’s impressive interior features are: an electric parking brake switch, steering wheel mounted cruise control and audio buttons, three power outlet locations, a driver information center, auto electronic air conditioner controls, and provisions for a mobile telephone with Bluetooth. It also has an integrated CD/MP3 player with six speakers provides an extremely pleasurable listening experience. Other convenience features include front cup holders, document/notes holders, and a rear cargo floor box.
Despite its SUV pedigree, the Captiva is ideal for the urban commute. Under the Chevrolet Captiva’s new hood is an improved gasoline or turbocharged with intercooler diesel engine. The 2.4L gasoline Captiva variant can produce 165hp @ 3,800rpm matched with 229 Nm @ 4,600rpm of torque. Its 2.0 liter CRDi diesel engine can produce a maximum power output of 163hp@ 3,800rpm and torque rating of 360Nm @ 2750rpm. The 2014 Chevy Captiva is equipped with advanced technologies aimed at delivering optimal performance and fuel economy.
All engines and variants are coupled to a six speed automatic transmission with a manual mode and equipped with an ECO button making the Captiva an efficient and environmentally friendly SUV.
Electronic parking brake is a convenient feature found in premium vehicles that lessens the risk of the vehicle running while engaged in parked setting.
